Be the GP you want to be...

Woodville South GP is a newly renovated, doctor owned clinic with a history of providing compassionate care to the Western Suburbs community

Founded back in a time when the doctor would live in the back of the building, Woodville South Medical Centre grew into a busy general practice clinic through the second half of the 20th century and continued from 2000 as a family owned practice. The clinic was closed down in October 2021 shortly after corporate ownership began.

Now, from November 2022, Woodville South GP has returned to being doctor-owned clinic focussed on providing quality healthcare to a quality community.

A bit about the owner

Ashley Ng was born in Adelaide and spent most of his childhood growing up in Woodville, so this area is dear to his heart. He graduated from the University of Adelaide with MBBS in 2010 and completed his GP training in 2015, with early rotations in Crystal Brook and Murray Bridge, with subsequent GP registrar posts in Adelaide Healthcare, Elizabeth Grove and Newton. He completed a clinical diploma of palliative care medicine in 2014 as part of extended skills training with the Northern Adelaide Palliative Service. He was an examiner for the RACGP OSCE examination from 2015 until 2020 and a supervisor for GP Registrars from 2017 to 2022.

In 2024 we have medical students from The University of Adelaide once a week.

Ashley has been practicing at the clinic since 2015. He was a contracted doctor until the clinic closed and shifted operations to Pennington in 2021.

Drawn back by the lovely patients and staff to make it happen, Ashley has overseen the clinic’s refurbishment and re-opening. With focus on modern general practice teamwork and processes, he has a keen interest on improving the experience of doctors, staff and patients in a system with increasing red-tape and bureaucracy.

Outside of medicine, Ashley is husband to an amazing wife, 2 little sons and a Groodle called Butters.
