Patient Information

Appointments

– The most convenient way is to book online right here on the website. Click the “book now” button at the top of the page to get started. You can also make an appointment by phoning the clinic.

On the day appointments – We understand things come up unexpectedly. We reserve a small number of on the day appointments for semi-urgent matters. These are available online or by calling us.

Telehealth

– We offer telehealth appointments with phone call appointments. They are booked and priced in the same way as regular appointments. Your doctor will call you at the time of your appointment.

– You must have seen a doctor in the practice face-to-face within the last 12 months in order to receive a medicare rebate for your consult.

– Prescriptions, imaging/pathology requests, sick certificates and referrals can be sent to you electronically.

Tips for appointments

– Regular appointments are allocated 10-15 minutes, which is usually enough time to address one medical problem. If you have multiple issues or a complex medical issue (examples include mental health issues, pregnancy, contraceptive advice, general health check ups including neonatal checks) we suggest to book in a longer/double appointment for the best outcome

– Let us know the reason for your visit if you feel comfortable. It may alert us if any extra time or accommodations are needed.

– Bring your Medicare card and Concession card (if you have one). Also bring your debit card as Medicare rebates can be returned to your card instantly.

Cancellation Policy

Please let us know if you can’t make your appointment, otherwise it means someone else is missing out on an appointment. Cancellation fee of $40 applies for non-attendance or cancellation within 4 hours of the scheduled appointment

Paperwork

– It’s part of the job. Doctors require appointments to fill out paperwork. This includes drivers licence examinations, medical certificates, centrelink certificates.

– Some paperwork does not attract a Medicare rebate and the fee must be paid in full. This includes commercial/heavy drivers licence medicals, insurance paperwork including income protection assessments and claims

– Some paperwork takes a bit longer to complete, such as NDIS applications. Longer appointments are required and it may need to be completed over more than one consultation.

After Hours

– If you need attention outside of our opening hours, please contact the National Home Doctor service on 13 74 25 (13SICK)

Results

– Please make an appointment if you want to discuss your results with a doctor. We use a SMS based notification system to alert you if a result requires specific discussion. Reception staff cannot give clinical information over the phone. – A copy of your results may be available on your My Health Record after 14 days depending on the laboratory that is used.

Communicating with your doctor

– Please make an appointment if you would like to speak with your doctor. Doctors do not use email to discuss clinical information with patients. We have secure messaging systems to correspond with other health professionals and specialists.

Recall System

– Our practice utilises a SMS system for appointment reminders and other reminders such as health screening checks or followup of tests. Please let us know if you want to opt out of this system or have any questions.
